Turning Chaos into Choreography
The Pillars of Choreography is a deck of 50 cards designed to spark ideas, guide your process, and give you tools to shape your movement. Whether you’re a student staring down an assessment, a teacher building class activities, or a choreographer looking for fresh inspiration, this deck breaks the massive task of choreography into playful, manageable steps.
Each card belongs to one of three categories: Ideas to inspire your imagination, Processes to structure your exploration, and Tools to refine and transform your work. Shuffle them, stack them, or draw one at random. There are no wrong ways to use the pillars.

How to use the Pillars?
The pillars are a card resource perfect for dance studios and classrooms.
There are no wrong ways to use the cards but I have some tips and tricks for getting to most out of your cards. Find them in the link below.
Why do you need the Pillars?
The hardest part of making choreography is starting. It’s the moment we overthink, stall, and procrastinate.
The Pillars of Choreography changes that. This deck offers a clear structure that reminds us that choreography isn’t about perfection on the first try — it’s an iterative process, a cycle of doing, testing, and returning.
Too often I see students spend hours chasing the “perfect” move or the ”perfect” song. Instead, these cards offer a way to experiment, play, and build choreography step by step. With The Pillars of Choreography “what’s next?” is obvious and the chaos of creating becomes manageable, and dare I say, fun!
